Western Technical College offers free manufacturing skills assessments
Published on Tuesday, May 13, 2008
Western Technical College is offering free production workforce assessments through June 30, 2008. To explain the benefits of having an assessment, the college is hosting an information session on Tuesday, June 3, from 7:30-9:00 a.m., in room 200 of the Academic Resource Center, 400 7th St. N., La Crosse.
Western is a certified Manufacturing Skills Standards Council (MSSC) assessment center. Through the assessment, manufacturing businesses are able to benchmark workers against a high-performance national standard to identify skills gaps in safety, process and production, quality and measurement, and maintenance.
Participants in the information session will learn how to:
• Take advantage of funding available to assess your workforce
• Create and develop a more flexible and responsive workforce
• Increase worker productivity
• Increase the return on investment on training
• Attract, retain, and motivate higher quality workers
