Gospel performance at Western to commemorate Martin Luther King, Jr.

As part of its Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration, Western Technical College is hosting Tommy Wesley and the Minneapolis Gospel Choir. They will be performing Monday, Jan. 19, from 12:20-1:20 p.m. in the Kumm Center TC Café, 400 Sixth St. N., La Crosse. Western’s Student Government and Multicultural Club are sponsoring the event, which is free and open to the public.
Wesley, a resident of Minneapolis, has served the Faith Deliverance Holiness Church as an Evangelist, worship leader, and minister of music for the past 10 years. He has been singing gospel most of his life, and as a high school freshman, he started the first gospel choir in Minneapolis public schools. His musical influences include, the Clark Sisters, the Winans, Patti LaBelle, and Jill Scott.
