Western Technical College’s Business and Industry Services Division is offering a series of APICS operations management training seminars. Sessions will be held various Fridays on the La Crosse Campus.

Friday, March 6, 8:00 a.m.-Noon, “Basics of Inventory Management,” provides a basic description of the functions of inventory management and gives real world applications.

Friday, March 13, 8:00 a.m.-Noon, “Cycle Counting,” addresses the true purpose of cycle counting, including an ABC analysis of inventory and common causes of inventory errors.

Friday, March 20, 8:00 a.m.-Noon, “Bill of Materials/MRP,” covers the use of planning bills and the benefits of using MRP (Materials Resource Planning).

Friday, April 3, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., “Basics of Supply Chain Management,” covers the fundamentals of managing the supply chain in businesses. Topics include introduction to materials management, production planning systems, master scheduling, material requirements planning, capacity management, production activity control, forecasting, and inventory fundamentals.

Friday, April 10, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., “Warehousing,” provides tools for an efficient process and management system. Topics will include warehouse design, materials handling equipment, automated equipment, packaging and utilization, material control, distribution & order processing, and warehouse management systems.

Cost for the first three sessions is $129 each; cost for the last two sessions is $259 each. Price includes materials and refreshments.
