Western Technical College’s Business and Industry Services Division is offering free Leadership in Manufacturing certificates. The training is funded through the Department of Labor’s Community-based Job Training Grant and is offered at no cost to a limited number of participants.

The three six-credit certificates are offered in an accelerated format, where each certificate is presented in two eight-week courses. Classes will meet once a week from 12:30-3:30 p.m. at the La Crosse Campus.

The first certificate, Human Factors Leadership, meets Wednesdays, starting Jan. 20; the Operations Leadership certificate begins March 24; and the Team Leadership certificate begins Aug. 18.

The courses are designed to enhance interpersonal and management skills, and will cover topics such as supervision, safety, quality, team building, and leadership. Participants who complete three certificates will earn the Leadership in Manufacturing certification, which ladders into Western’s Supervisory Management associate’s degree program.

Class size is limited to 25 students. For details on this and other seminars, visit westerntc.edu/bis. To register, contact the Business and Industry Services Division at 608.785.9291 or e-mail schellr@westerntc.edu.
