Western business students participate in state competition

Four Western Technical College Business students recently attended the Business Professionals of America State Leadership Conference in Fontana, Wis. As part of the conference, the students participated in competitions that tested their knowledge and skills in information technology.
Jennifer Jerome, of La Crosse, placed first in Network Administration Using Microsoft, second in Database Applications, second in Interview Skills, and second in Information Technology Concepts.
Amy Hoover, of Ladysmith, placed first in Prepared Speech, fifth in Administrative Support Concepts, and sixth in Interview Skills.
Dan Ackman, of Mauston, placed second in Fundamentals of Web Design and fifth in Fundamental Word Processing Skills.
Todd Barkeim, of Winona, placed third in Computer Security, fifth in Information Technology Concepts, fifth in PC Servicing and Troubleshooting and sixth in Computer Network Technology.
The students qualified to compete at the National Leadership Conference to be held in Anaheim, Calif., May 5-9.
