Don’t be one of THOSE managers. Be a good one.

When you’ve mastered your current job, it’s time to either move up or move on. If you’re looking to move up, that may mean trying for a management position. And that’s not something to go into blindly. Becoming a supervisor or manager requires a different set of skills, including teambuilding, communication, and problem-solving. Maybe you only need a few classes on some of the fundamentals of managing. Or maybe you’d like a full two-year degree. Western Technical College offers several options. And, the best part is you can continue to work full-time. Won’t your boss be impressed?
On Wednesdays, Aug. 4 and 11, Western is hosting information sessions on the Supervisory Management program. Instructor Josh Gamer will be there to talk about the program and answer any questions. If you think you’re interested in the full program, or even a few classes, come and check it out. The info sessions will be held both evenings from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in room 102 of the Business Education Center, 405 8th St. N., La Crosse.
Josh will be talking about the three class formats: online, face-to-face, or blended ITV. You can choose to take the entire degree in an online format with instructors from business and industry. The face-to-face format uses accelerated learning techniques where you only have to meet one evening per week for the core courses. The blended option combines online with the face-to-face format via Interactive Television (ITV).
There’s no pressure. You don’t have to sign away your life. Just come and find out more about classes that can help you move up … or even move on.
If you want to chat with Josh before the meeting, contact him at firstname.lastname@example.org. Or if you’d rather be more covert, check out the website at www.westerntc.edu/superman.
