Mathews employees hold food drive as part of college course

Mathews Manufacturing employees enrolled in a Supervisory Management course through Western Technical College are holding a food drive to benefit Couleecap.
Donation boxes have been set up around Sparta since Nov. 1, but they are making a final push for donations on Wednesday, Nov. 16. Anyone interested in donating non-perishable food items that day can bring them directly to Mathews Manufacturing, 919 River Road in Sparta, between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
The food drive is part of a class community service project. The students were able to choose the event and the beneficiary.
Couleecap serves people and communities in Crawford, La Crosse, Monroe, and Vernon counties. The organization’s main purpose is to provide the tools and resources that empower low-income people to meet their needs, develop self-confidence and reach self-sufficiency. Couleecap strengthens communities by identifying resources, developing opportunities, and advocating for local adults, youth, and families. For more information, visit www.couleecap.org.
