Senate Joint Resolution 52 (SJR 52) honoring Western Technical College on its centennial anniversary has been scheduled for a vote in the State Senate at 11:00am on Tuesday, January 24th. This joint resolution was introduced by Senator Jennifer Shilling (D-La Crosse) and Representative Jill Billings (D-La Crosse) along with many other regional legislators to commemorate the history and importance of Western Technical College in our state.

“I am proud that our state will be officially recognizing the wonderful staff, faculty, students, and alumni that have helped to ensure the success of Western Technical College over the past 100 years,” said Shilling. “Western Technical College continues to be one of Wisconsin’s most highly respected educational institutions, and in these difficult economic times, has once again demonstrated it’s value to our communities, workers, and businesses. I know that the outstanding leadership at Western Technical College, strong community support, and growing demand for quality higher educational experiences will continue to drive Western’s success over the next 100 years.”

Western Technical College President Lee Rasch, Vice President Mike Pieper, and members of the Western District Board were in attendance.
