Western Technical College is offering to help jobseekers brush up on their interview skills. A “Mock Interview Event” will be held Wednesday, April 18, from 6:00-8:00 p.m., at the Tomah Campus, 120 East Milwaukee St. Although designed with dislocated workers in mind, the event is free and open to anyone wishing to go through a practice job interview.

Western’s Supervisory Management students will serve as mock employers. They will review resumes, conduct interviews, and give feedback to participants.

“Many dislocated workers haven’t had to use interview skills for a long time,” said Brandee Ortery, Supervisory Management program instructor at Western. “This is a great non-stressful way to get advice on how to best present themselves during their job search.”

In addition to helping the jobseekers, the exercise also allows Supervisory Management students to gain experience interviewing potential employees – something that will be a benefit in their future careers.

Interviews will last approximately 20 minutes, and preregistration is encouraged. Call Ortery at 608.374.7700, option 6 to reserve a time.
