Western Technical College will host two presentations focused on getting a job after college. “Out of the Classroom and Into a Career: Finding a Job in a Tough Economy,” will be offered Wednesday, April 2, from 9:00 a.m.-Noon, and again from 5:00-8:00 p.m. in the Lunda Center, 319 7th Ave. N., La Crosse. The event is free and open to the public.

The presenter, Chris Czarnik, is co-author of the book, “The Human Search Engine,” and the owner of Career Search Group, a training organization focused on taking the fear out of the career search for job seekers. He has worked in human resources for two different manufacturing firms and in leadership roles with several Fortune 500 companies. Czarnik currently teaches Career Development courses at Fox Valley Technical College and UW-Madison.

Both sessions will include these three parts: Expectations of the Hiring Manager, Proactive Job Searching, and Interviewing for Success.

The event is sponsored by Western’s Career Services, Community Engagement, and Student Government.
