LA CROSSE, Wis. - Western Wisconsin Technical College’s student restaurant will be open for business starting Thursday, Feb. 3. Kulinary Korner II will operate every Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. (except the week of March 14-18) throughout the spring semester. Located in the WWTC Kumm Center, the restaurant has reasonable prices, and is open to the general public. Reservations can be made by calling Mike Oliver at 608-785-9271.

The restaurant is run by the second year WWTC Culinary Management program students and provides students with an opportunity to experience how a restaurant works and operates. The students learn everything from running the cash register to preparing the meals. Menus for Kulinary Korner II were produced by Menu Design students and selected by a team of well-known area chefs.

In addition to the restaurant, the students also take part in running a bakery. Bakery items are sold in the Kumm Center Cafeteria from 10:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. (unless sold out earlier) on Fridays beginning Jan. 21 and Thursdays beginning Feb 3. The bakery is also open to the public.

Proceeds from the events are typically used to defray costs of a field trip at the end of the year. But, this semester’s first two bakeries will be used as a fund-raiser for the family of a former Food Production student, Cole Stevenson, who passed away over the holidays.
