Josh Berg of Bangor, Wis. has been selected as the 2005-06 Western Wisconsin Technical College (WWTC) Student Ambassador. Berg is a first-year student in the Culinary Management program at WWTC and was selected out of 42 candidates.

As Student Ambassador, Berg will address the WWTC student body at the graduation ceremony to be held on May 13 at the La Crosse Center in downtown La Crosse. He will also represent WWTC at the state level by working with other student ambassadors throughout the Wisconsin Technical College System. In addition, Berg will be speaking at a variety of college and WWTC Foundation events throughout the school year.

Berg is actively involved on the WWTC campus and in the community. He’s been named to WWTC President’s List of High Distinction, Who’s Who Among America’s Junior Colleges, and the National Dean’s List. He’s a charter member of Phi Theta Kappa, the International Honor Society of the Two-year College, and the vice president of scholarship for the sociey. He is actively involved in the Foods Club, which participates in a variety of events and fundraising activities throughout the year. He is also the Foods Club president.

In addition to his college achievements, Berg is a member of the La Crosse Coulee Chordsmen and an active member in the Bangor community, volunteering his time to raise funds for community projects and helping provide food preparation at events and celebrations. He also works at his family’s restaurant in Bangor; his father is a graduate of WWTC’s Food Service Management program.

WWTC Student Ambassadors must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher, volunteer experience at WWTC and in the community, nomination from an instructor, and display excellence in his/her program.
