This year, over 400 students in the Goal Oriented Adult Learning (GOAL) program at Western Wisconsin Technical College (WWTC) will be honored at a graduation ceremony scheduled for Friday, June 3, at 7:30 p.m. at the La Crosse Center in downtown La Crosse.

Participating graduates will include those from the following programs of instruction: High School Equivalency Diploma, General Educational Development, Adult High School, and Alternative High School.

The graduation ceremony will feature four student speakers: Jason Klund, Aaron Lawrence, and Ue Vang of La Crosse, and Casey Marshall of Tomah.

The keynote address will be delivered by Mary Ann Jackson, education director for Adult Basic Education Programs in the Wisconsin Technical College System. Jackson has served as director for the last 18 years. She has also been the chairperson of the National Adult Education Professional Development Consortium and the National Council of State Directors of Adult Education and continues on the Executive Committee and Policy Committee in those organizations. She recently served on Governor Doyle’s Hmong Task Force and has served on the National Coalition for Literacy and on the PBS Learning Services Advisory Committee.

WWTC offers GOAL programs in 12 locations throughout the WWTC District. Additional services offered through the WWTC Instructional Support Services Division include English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), Developmental Courses prior to post-secondary training, COMPASS Test Preparation, Basic Skills/Review, and High School Credit courses.
