WWTC culinary students receive scholarships

Two local students from the Culinary Management program at Western Wisconsin Technical College were recently awarded with Restaurant Association scholarships.
Josh Berg, of Bangor, received a $2,000 scholarship from the National Restaurant Association. Only 12 national scholarships are awarded each year. Berg also received a $2,000 scholarship from the Wisconsin Restaurant Association, as did Kristie Degner, of Onalaska. The competition for these scholarships includes students enrolled in two- or four-year culinary programs
“This is the first time our students have received the big scholarships; the larger dollar amounts typically go to the four-year schools.” said Deb Klug, head of WWTC Foods program. “This shows the quality of the students who go through our program.”
