The La Crosse Community Foundation recently awarded a grant to Western Wisconsin Technical College that will allow the college to continue its Incarcerated Youth and Adults program.
The $20,521 grant will fund the program, which provides education, basic literacy, and General Education Diploma (GED) services to individuals held in the La Crosse County Detention Center.
“This program plays a critical role in the transition of individuals from incarceration to the community and the workplace,” said Keith Valiquette, dean of Instructional Support Services at WWTC. “We are grateful for the support from the La Crosse Community Foundation. Without it, we wouldn’t be able to offer this important community service.”
