Western Wisconsin Technical College Women’s Volleyball team is currently ranked as Wisconsin Junior College Athletic Association State Champion. The With a record of 34-3, the WWTC Lady Cavaliers will be hosting the National Junior College Region XIII Regional on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 4-5.

The semi-finals first match will be held Friday at 6:00 pm. and pits Madison Area Technical College against Ridgewater College. WWTC will play against Minnesota West Community and Technical College in the second match at 8:00 p.m. The winners from the two matches will advance to the championship game on Saturday at 1:00. The victorious team will go on to play in the NJCAA National Tournament, Nov. 10-12.

Lady Cavaliers team members are Samantha Korn of Bangor; Kayla Olson of Barron; Brittany Schwantz of Onalaska; Ashley Neumann and Sara Chapiewsky of Sparta; and Mindy Gruba of Stanley; and Brett Dechant, Gretchen Fritz, and Bobbi Jo Plueger of Tomah.

Gruba was also named to the All State Tournament Team and All Conference. Korn was named All State–WJCAA, All Conference–WTCC, and All Region XIII. Neumann was named to the All State-Wisconsin Junior College Athletic Association, All Conference-Wisconsin Technical College Conference, All Region XIII, and the All State Tournament Team. WWTC is currently ranked third in the NJCAA Division III national poll, the highest any WWTC sports team has ever been ranked nationally.
