On Tuesday, Nov. 15, students, faculty and staff at Western Wisconsin Technical College (WWTC) will be participating in the third annual Volunteer Fair at WWTC. The event is scheduled from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. in the Kumm Center, 400 6th St. N., La Crosse.
“The Fair is an opportunity for community service providers to share their successes, provide information and explain how people can get involved,” says Dan Rooney, WWTC Service-Based Speech instructor. “Additionally it serves as a working lab for students in the Service-Based Speech course. Students volunteer with a community service agency, and apply the speaking skills learned in the classroom by representing their agencies at the event.”
A variety of La Crosse area agencies will be participating in the day’s activities including: American Cancer Society, AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin, Bethany Lutheran Homes, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Children’s Museum of La Crosse, Coulee Region Humane Society, Girl Scouts, La Crosse County 4-H, Lakeview Health Center, New Horizons, Salvation Army, and the WWTC Goal Oriented Adult Learning (GOAL) Program.
