Bangor native Josh Berg, a second-year student in Western Wisconsin Technical College’s Culinary Management program, has been named a New Century Scholar by the Phi Theta Kappa-International Honor Society of the Two-year College.

The New Century Scholars program is an extension of the All-USA Academic Team, an academic and service competition, which annually recognizes 60 outstanding two-year college students. The highest-scoring student in each state in the All-USA Academic Team competition is named a New Century Scholar and receives a $2,000 scholarship funded by the Coca-Cola Foundation and the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation.

Berg will represent all technical college students from Wisconsin at the American Association of Community Colleges convention in Long Beach, Calif., April 22-24.
