Western to host film on bullying

“Bang Bang You’re Dead,” a film about bullies and being bullied, will be presented at Western Technical College on Wednesday, April 5, from 3:30-6:00 p.m. in room 163 of the Academic Resource Center, 400 7th St. N., in La Crosse. The event is free and open to the public.
The movie is presented through the eyes of a student who experiences extreme bullying, which drives him to threaten to bomb the high school football team. The student is troubled, misunderstood, and on the brink of committing real violence. Salvation comes in the form of a caring drama teacher who offers the student the lead in a school play about school violence and playground killers. The film offers a glimpse inside the post-Columbine high schools of America and the forces that can compel a teen to violence.
Following the movie, a discussion will focus on the perspective of the students, parents, teachers, community, police and school administrators.
