Western Technical College announces student ambassador

Bridget Klinkner of Cashton, Wis. has been selected as the 2006-2007 Western Technical College Student Ambassador. Klinkner is a first-year student in the Early Childhood Education program at Western and was selected out of 47 candidates.
As Student Ambassador, Klinkner will address the Western Technical College student body at the graduation ceremony to be held on Friday, May 12 at the La Crosse Center in downtown La Crosse. She will also represent Western at the state level by working with other student ambassadors throughout the Wisconsin Technical College System. In addition, Klinkner will be speaking at a variety of college and Western Technical College Foundation events throughout the school year.
Klinkner is actively involved on the Western campus and in the community. She’s been named to Western Technical College President’s List of High Distinction, an honor bestowed upon students who earn a 3.5 GPA or higher and carry 12 credits.
In addition to her academic achievements, Klinkner is an active FFA member and is seeking statewide office with that organization this spring. She has volunteered her time at Gundersen Lutheran’s Head Start program and at Camp W, a youth enrichment program at Western. She is also involved at her local church, volunteering her time with youth activities.
Western Technical College Student Ambassadors must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher, volunteer experience at the college and in the community, a nomination from an instructor, and display excellence in his/her program.
