Western Technical College looking for diverse faculty
Published on Friday, March 09, 2007
Western Technical College is taking a new approach to gathering a pool of qualified candidates who are interested in teaching at the college. A ”Faculty Casting Call” will be held on Tuesday, March 20, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Kumm Center Cafeteria, 400 6th St. N., La Crosse.
Representatives from the college will be available to discuss current and future full-time, adjunct, and Lifelong Learning faculty openings at all seven Western campuses. Requirements for becoming certified to teach in the Wisconsin Technical College System will also be covered.
All teaching positions at the college require relevant work experience outside the field of education, and most prefer a bachelor’s or master’s degree.
“One of the goals for the event is to expand the diversity of our faculty,” said Jackie Kettner, organizational development manager at Western. “We strongly encourage minorities to attend and find out more about opportunities at the college.”
