This fall, Western Technical College will offer a new delivery method for earning an associate’s degree in finance. An open house to discuss the program will be held Thursday, Aug. 9, from 5:00-7:00 p.m., in Room 114 of the Business Education Center, 405 8th St. N., La Crosse. The public is invited to stop in anytime during this free event.

The new delivery method, called Block and Blend, allows participants to “block” the same day and time each week for classes on Western’s La Crosse campus. This method also “blends” face-to-face learning with online learning. All required finance classes meet in a traditional classroom for two hours on Wednesdays and have one hour of online class time. The remaining non-finance courses may be taken online or in the evening.

“This is an ideal schedule for the average working adult,” said Jennifer Parker, finance program head at Western. “It’s also appreciated by employers who encourage continuing education but need a set schedule for work hours.”
