LA CROSSE, Wis. – In celebration of International Education Week, Nov. 12-16, Western Technical College will be hosting a Global Town Hall Meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 14 from 10:15 a.m.–Noon in the Western Corner Bistro, located in the Kumm Center on the La Crosse campus.

The event, sponsored by Western’s Diversity and Global Education Committee, will feature a panel discussion of cultural topics. Twenty international students will be part of the panel discussion and are from countries such as China, South Korea, Poland, Guatemala, Cameroon, and Russia.

International Education Week (IEW) is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education to recognize and promote the global exchange environment between the United States and other countries. Since its inception in 2000, IEW has grown in size and scope, to become a global event, with students, educators, and community leaders participating in a wide range of activities to celebrate the benefits of internationalism in our classrooms and educational systems.
