Veteran Assistance at Western:

Western Technical College is approved by the Wisconsin State Approving Agency and the Federal Department of Veterans Affairs to provide training to veterans, active service members, survivors and dependents of a deceased or disabled veteran. You can get more information about VA education benefits from Western's Veteran service office located in the Academic Resource Center R202 or by contacting your local county Veterans Service Officer.

If you are a veteran or service member thinking of enrolling at Western and plan to use veterans educational benefits, you MUST set up an initial consultation with Jackie Helgeson, Veterans' Certifying Official. We ask you to bring any/all military documents you have, i.e. DD214s, NOBE, KICKER (as applicable to you) to make the best use of your scheduled time. If you do not have these documents, or are unfamiliar with them, please contact your Education Officer for assistance in obtaining them prior to setting up your appointment. Paula Speropulos is the veterans Enrollment Services Advisor. She will assist you with advising, academic planning, program information, admission requirements, course selection, and evaluating military education, training and experience for college credit. To schedule an appointment with Jackie or Paula, contact Veterans Services at 608.785.9436
