Program Overview

Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTA) work with individuals who are limited or impaired by developmental deficits, learning disabilities, the aging process, physical injury/illness or psychological disability. Students in the program learn how to apply therapeutic activities and exercises with specific goals to help the individual overcome or lessen a disability.

The program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), 4720 Montgomery Lane, Suite 200, Bethesda, MD 20814, phone 301.652.2682.




For the three most recent calendar years (2009-2011)*, the performance of the graduates of the Occupational Therapy Assistant program on the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification examination was as follows:
