Application Resources

Cal the CavalierGreat job!

You’ve submitted your application to Western. You may be wondering…what now? Here’s some information to help.

Please connect with your admissions coach any time for additional assistance!

Complete Your Admissions Checklist Items

Your checklist items will be determined by what program you’ve applied for. We recommend all students have their official high school transcripts and official college transcripts sent to Western for evaluation. Additional checklist items, including any forms that need to be submitted, can be found on your program’s web page: www.westerntc.edu/academic-programs. Each page has an “Admissions Requirements” tab. Admissions Forms can be sent to admissions@westerntc.edu. If a form has no signature page it is informational only, and does not need to be turned in. If your program requires an intent to enroll please connect with your admissions coach.

Background Check and Health Portal Requirements

Programs in Health Sciences, Law, Public Safety, Corrections and Security, and Education utilize ViewPoint Screening for required background check and immunization requirements. Early Childhood Education has a different background check process. Please refer to that program’s page for details.

Background Checks

The background check cost is $40 through ViewPoint Screening. View the Background Check Instructions. It is very important to complete the Background Information Disclosure (BID) Form in its entirety before uploading to ViewPoint. Failure to do so could result in additional charges from ViewPoint Screening.

Health Portal/Immunization Requirements

The Health Portal cost is $20 through ViewPoint Screening. View the Health Portal Instructions. Wisconsin has open immunization records which can be accessed online: WI Immunization Registry. Please pay special attention to the acceptable documents for each immunization or testing requirement.

Need Assistance Completing These Items?

Our team of Admissions Coaches are happy to help! Please connect with your admissions coach directly or schedule an appointment at www.westerntc.edu/admissions-coaches. If you are concerned about the cost of ViewPoint Screening items, please let us know.

What does my Admissions Status Mean?

Once you’ve submitted your application to Western you can always login to your Application Portal to view your Admissions Status and to access your acceptance letter. You may see one of these statuses:

Accepted to Program

This indicates you are accepted to the program of your choice and can begin taking courses in that program. The term you are starting in (Fall, Spring, Summer) could determine what is available. To see the typical start term for your program, visit your program’s web page: www.westerntc.edu/academic-programs.

Accepted to Waitlist

This status indicates you have completed all required admissions checklist items, but at this time the program is at capacity. You can take general education courses towards your program of choice as a waitlist student. Connect with your admissions coach for assistance if you have questions.

Accepted to Pre-Major

This status indicates you are accepted to the college and can begin taking general education courses towards your program of choice, but you have additional admissions checklist items to complete before you are accepted to a waitlist or program. Keep track of your admissions checklist items in your Application Portal and check your program’s web page for items that need to be completed: www.westerntc.edu/academic-programs.
