Transcript Request Procedure
An official transcript is a complete record of a student’s enrollment at the College and is maintained by the Registrar’s office. It includes all courses, grades, and program graduation. Transcripts are confidential and cannot be released without your authorization.
The cost for an official transcript is $8.65 plus delivery. Official transcripts can be sent electronically, mailed, or picked up. Contact the receiving school for their policy regarding transcripts. Most schools require transcripts be sent directly to them from another college and will not accept transcripts from the student. Transcripts will be stamped “Issued to Student” when picked up unless requested to be in a sealed envelope (indicates student is NOT to open).

Western partners with the National Student Clearinghouse to provide transcript ordering online. You may order your transcript(s) using any major credit card/debit card. After you request a transcript online, you can use the Transcript Order Status Tool to track the progress of your order.

Request Transcript In Person
To request a transcript in person, stop by the Welcome Center and complete the transcript request form. Payment must accompany the transcript request. You can pay by cash or check in the Cashier’s Office. Our office hours are Monday-Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Processing Timeframe
The average transcript processing time is three to five business days. Processing time does not include delivery time. Orders placed during peak times, such as registration, immediately before a semester begins, and just prior to commencement, may take longer to process.
Important Information:
- Selecting the "After Grades are Posted" processing timeframe may cause a 1 week delay in processing.
- The "After Degree is Awarded" processing timeframe may take up to 6 weeks to process.
Western Technical College is closed on holidays and weekends. Student records are normally processed Monday through Friday.
- Requesting Unofficial Transcripts
Current students can access their unofficial transcripts through the MyWestern student portal by following these steps:
- Log in to your MyWestern account
- Click on Self Service in the menu to the right
- Click on the Grades tab
- Click on Unofficial Transcript and/or Grade Report
- Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA)
Western annually informs students of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974 in the Student Handbook. This act protects the privacy of educational records, establishes the rights of students to inspect and review their educational records and provides guidelines for the correction of inaccurate or misleading data through informal and formal hearings.
