La Crosse, Wis., August 12, 2026 — Western Technical College has accepted an impactful gift from the Bosshard-Parke family through the donation of the commercial building located at 601 7th Street N. in La Crosse. The building, currently known as the Associated Center, will be renamed the Bosshard-Parke Partnership Center in recognition of the family's extraordinary generosity and longstanding commitment to Western and the region.
Located across La Crosse Street from Western's main campus, the building is an investment in the college's future and its mission to serve students, employers, and communities in the region.
The Bosshard-Parke family has supported Western for many years. Andrew Bosshard, a former District Board member, has contributed to the college's growth and success. The family completed this gift during outgoing President Roger Stanford's tenure, showing their confidence in Western's leadership and future.
"This remarkable gift demonstrates an extraordinary belief in Western Technical College and the impact we have on our students and communities," said Dr. Roger Stanford, outgoing president of Western Technical College. "The Bosshard-Parke family has long been champions of education and community development. We are truly thankful for their generosity and honored to carry their family name on this important community asset."
The donated property is an active commercial building that houses organizations with strong community and regional ties. Existing tenants will continue under current lease agreements, guaranteeing continuity for these organizations.
Western has been given the freedom to use the building as they see fit, but there are no immediate plans to change the building's use. Ownership provides a valuable long-term asset, with lease revenue supporting the college and enabling future partnerships, community participation, and strategic programs as regional needs evolve.
"We felt this was the highest and best use for this property, to give it to Western to continue to perpetuate the good that they do," said George Parke III.
The Bosshard-Parke Partnership Center's location and role as a community hub make it an important asset to Western. This donation will enhance the college's ability to serve students and develop partnerships that benefit the wider community.
