Work Description
Mechatronics Technicians combine knowledge of mechanical systems, electronics, control systems, and computer technology to install, troubleshoot, and maintain complex automated equipment and robotics. They work on a variety of systems that integrate mechanical, electrical, and computerized technologies, often in manufacturing and industrial environments. Their tasks include diagnosing issues in programmable logic controllers (PLCs), sensors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and ensuring systems operate efficiently and safely.
Working Conditions
Mechatronics Technicians typically work in industrial or manufacturing settings. The role may involve standing for extended periods, working in confined spaces, and responding to machinery malfunctions promptly. Use of personal protective equipment—such as safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots, and hearing protection—is standard to protect from hazards related to automation, machinery, and electronics.
