Everything you need to know about voting!

Voting is one of the most important ways you can affect the future of our country – and your future. We have a responsibility to be engaged participants in our democracy. Cavaliers vote! Voting in the local elections can make all the difference and really have greater impact on your everyday life. It is our local and state officials who create change that is felt in our community. From judges to sheriffs, comptrollers to mayors, county clerks to superintendents; state and local offices deserve just as much consideration as the president.

Voter Registration
Keep your voter registration up to date and register to vote at your municipal clerk’s office. You can also register to vote in person at a polling place on

Absentee Ballot Voting
You must first register to vote or update your voter registration (if your address changed) if you plan to vote absentee. Then you can request an absentee ballot for the spring elections.

At myvote.wi.gov you can register to vote, check your voter registration status, find your polling place, see what's on your ballot, request an absentee ballot, and check provisional ballot status.

Western Elections
As a Western student, you can also vote in Student Government elections or choose to run for an open position! This is a great way to have your voice be heard and to advocate for other students.
