Tuition

Western Technical College is known for making a relevant, high quality education affordable for students on all career pathways—those transferring to a four-year program and those pursuing diplomas, associate’s, and technical degrees.

Tuition is calculated per semester credit and varies depending on the program. Fees support a variety of services that enhance student life, from supplies associated with various learning experiences to student programs such as the Wellness Center and primary health care services available on campus.

The Cashier’s Office processes your tuition and fee payments and maintains your account at Western.

Associate’s Degree and Technical Diploma

Program Fee: $130.35 per credit

Material Fee varies depending upon course

Student Activity Fee: $7.17 per credit

Health Science Center Fee: $1.83 per credit

Security Fee: $1.96 per credit

Graduation Fee: $.45 per credit

Associate of Science/Liberal Arts Transfer Degree

Program Fee: $176.35 per credit

Nonresident Student Tuition

Nonresident students pay $195.53 (an additional $65.18) per credit for associate’s degree or technical diploma classes.

Nonresident students pay $264.53 (an additional $88.18) per credit for Associate of Science/Liberal Arts transfer degree classes.

Student Fee Details

Application Fee

A $30 application fee is required to process your application.

Online Course Fee

There is an additional $10 per credit fee for online courses.

Student Activity Fee

Every student pays an activity fee calculated at 5.5 percent of program fees.* Each year, Western's student government determines the distribution of these fees, which are used to support student programs such as the Wellness Center, student government, athletics, professional organizations, and campus events.

Health Services Fees

Every student pays a fee calculated at 1.4 percent of program fees. This fee helps cover the cost of preventive health services at the Student Health Center.

Security Fees

Every student pays a fee calculated at 1.5 percent of program fees. This fee helps cover the cost of security services.

Graduation Fee

Every Student pays a graduation fee of $0.45 per credit. This fee helps cover the cost of graduation.

Paying your tuition

The Cashier’s office receives tuition and fee payments. Our regular hours are 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
