Western has moved to an online parking permit system for students and employees to ensure they can be purchased at anytime from anywhere! You no longer need to hang a placard in your vehicle, and you don't have to print anything! Parking tickets can also be paid online through this system.

- Parking at Western is first-come, first-served with a valid permit. A permit grants access to Western parking lots but does not guarantee an available space.
- On our La Crosse campus, parking permits are required Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- The City of La Crosse has pay-by-phone parking on several streets surrounding Western. With this program, anyone planning to park on these streets pays $1 per hour using a smartphone app with a limit of four hours parking in each block. Please be aware of these rules before parking on City streets near the Western campus. View our parking map for more information (PDF).
- Vehicles not registered with a valid permit—or parked in violation of parking rules—may be ticketed.
- Unauthorized overnight parking is not allowed and will also result in a citation.
- Accessible stalls require a valid permit and a properly displayed state-issued disabled permit/accessibility permit and/or state-issued license plate that indicates that your vehicle may park in a designated accessible spot.
- Permits are linked to your license plate. If the plate is entered incorrectly, it may result in a citation.
- If you are a student who also works on campus, you will purchase a student permit.
- If you are an employee who happens to be taking classes, you are to purchase an employee pass.
