Welcome to the new term! This webpage will provide you with the information and tools to start…and finish…the term strong! Some of the resources and services you may need right away are listed below. Otherwise, we have a comprehensive list of student services here.

As questions come up throughout the term, your College Advisor and your instructors can provide answers or connect you with additional resources.
- Coming to Campus
If you want to get acquainted with any of our campuses, check out the Interactive Map. This map takes you to the main La Crosse campus first, but just click on the menu options to choose any of our off-main campus facilities and regional locations, too! You’ll find 360 degree photos and interior floor plans to help you find exactly where you need to go.
- Bookstore
Financial aid refunds will be disbursed sometime during the 5th week of classes. We allow students who meet certain criteria to charge their books and supplies at Western’s Official Online Bookstore, eCampus.
- Learning Commons
The Learning Commons offers more services than you can imagine, and the friendly staff are happy to assist! They can provide support with:
- Blackboard, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams
- Communication and Writing
- Math
- Science
- Library Services
- PC Service
If you’re having trouble accessing your MyWestern student portal, student portal, or Blackboard, reach out to Western’s Information Technology Services (PC Services) Help Desk. You can find more information at the IT Help Desk, or email PCService@westerntc.edu for assistance.
- Online Readiness Training
Many of our classes are offered in an online format, and our required Online Readiness Training Video will help prepare you for this learning environment. Learn more about student readiness training or check out the video.
- Financial Aid
If you have questions about the status of your Financial Aid or if you have concerns about funding your education, our Financial Aid Resources and Planning Services can help.

- Student Health Services
Western students with a valid student ID receive access to affordable healthcare options at one of our partner provider locations. The UWL Student Health Center and Neighborhood Family Clinics are dedicated to meeting the unique healthcare needs of Western students. Visit the Student Health Services page for more information.
- Basic Needs Center
Western provides support and resources to students who may be experiencing difficulties with any of the following: food, housing, finances, transition to online learning, stress, mental health, etc. There are a number of resources available here at Western as well as within the La Crosse and surrounding communities. If you would like to discuss getting assistance with these barriers, please complete the Student Resource Request form, and we'll be in touch within 2-3 business days.
