The YWCA La Crosse Child Center now offers a drop-in childcare service just for Western students! This flexible, short-term care service is rooted in the YWCA’s commitment to high-quality, inclusive early childhood education. This service supports student success by offering a safe, nurturing, and developmentally supportive environment for children ages 2–7.
Location: YWCA La Crosse Child Center, 419 9th St N La Crosse, WI 54601
Service Hours: Monday–Thursday, 7:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
Eligibility and Fees
- Students must be enrolled in at least one credit-bearing course during the current academic term
- Provide their Western student ID number during sign up and remain on campus while receiving care
- Children must be two years old or under seven years old
- Complete the enrollment paperwork and pay a one-time $25 enrollment fee
- Hourly Fee: $4 per hour is the reduced rate Western makes available for students; students must pay at drop-off for care
Care Limits
- Daily Limit: Up to 3 hours per child per day (minimum of 2 hours)
- Weekly Limit: No more than 10 hours per child per week

- Cancellations must be made at least 72 hours in advance to avoid charges.
