The current pay rate for Federal Work-Study is $14 per hour.
Bio-Med Lab Assistant
Cleaning the lab, organizing, lab set-up, lab development, photo copying of assignments and handouts, repair of lab equipment and electronic devices, repair services to medical equipment in other parts of the campus including RT, EMT, CLT and Nursing, data entry or Microsoft office editing, tutor or lead study groups and other duties as assigned.
Skills with electronics or computer maintenance or computer networking preferred or admitted to the HTM or an electronics program. Skills with word or access preferred. Able to move and lift equipment up to 30 lbs.
Campus Shop Clerk
To provide support to the Campus Shop in any or all of the ways described in the duties and responsibilities listed below.
- Perform Cashier Functions

Catering Assistant - Food Services
To help assist with catering events around campus.
Prepare and serve meals, snacks, buffets and any other requirements specified for the event. Prepare and serve hot and cold drinks, clean and clear tables and eating areas when required and make sure that all equipment, dishes, and utensils are cleaned and returned to proper storage areas. Ensure cleanliness of all eating and drinking areas, assist in the food preparation for catered meals and assist in other related duties.
Must be efficient, dependable and able to carry out instructions independently. A professional demeanor, in addition to strong communication and customer service skills are imperative. A strong understanding of campus programs and operations is extremely valuable.
Child Care Assistant
To gain experience and knowledge of working with children in a group setting.
Assist teachers who work with children, assist in the care of children with teacher direction, clean/wash toys, help in the kitchen for meal prep and cleanup, and help in the office (answer phones, file, type, make copies).
Must have certain classes in order to be with children or left with children. Can discuss further at interview. Background check required for the YWCA.
Clerical/Office Assistant - BIS
To learn office work and gain experience for future employment and assist the Business and Industry staff in their everyday roles and processes.
Answer phones and assist with inbound customer inquiries and general clerical duties, data entry. Create forms as requested by BIS staff, tabulate BIS evaluations and post to shared drive, create certification of completions for courses and send to customers, update customer database in Goldmine, scan BIS files to Smartsearch and other duties as assigned.
Telephone and customer service experience, experience in MS Office Suite.
Clerical/Office Assistant - Financial Aid Resources & Planning Services
To assist the Financial Aid Resource and Planning Services office with every day duties as well as getting experience for the future.
Providing customer service to students, parents, and staff while answering questions regarding financial aid, answering phones and email, data entry, assisting students with completing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), mailing, scanning, filing, general office duties and other duties as assigned.

Digital Content Assistant
Create video content for Western's marketing and official Social Media accounts
Assist Western's Media Digital Content Specialist with developing video content and/or photos for social media and other marketing purposes. You will have access to the necessary equipment in the marketing department and/or Digital Media program and may be asked to use your personal smart phone to create and post content to Western's social media channels.
Must be enrolled in Western's Digital Media program and familiar with creating and editing digital content for use in polished videos and/or Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube social media channels.
Electromechancial Work-Study
To facilitate the electronics instructors ability to utilize equipment.
Organize and repair equipment. Set up and tear down labs. Help maintain a clean and safe lab environment.
Electromechanical student, second year preferred.
Electronic, Physics, & Computer Engineering Technology (ECET) Work-Study
Maintain, repair, design and build lab equipment.
Work with program instructors to work on lab equipment.
Currently enrolled in the Electronic & Computer Engineering Technology (ECET) program.
Energy Program Assistant
To promote and support energy efficiency and conservation practices at Western Technical College.
Assist in facility energy audits, monitor and report Western Energy Program performance, identify and record data and work with other sustainability efforts as needed. Advocating for sustainable practices on social media.
Basic computer skills, skills in Microsoft programs (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), data entry ability, good listening and observation skills, and must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Enrollment Services Staff
Provide clerical support and front line customer service.
Filing, scanning, answering phones, front line customer service, assist with events and tours, and other duties as assigned.

Human Resources Work-Study
To provide clerical and office support for Human Resources

Interior Design Student Assistant
Support Interior Design program staff and students.
Various office duties, helping with lesson planning activities, helping with computer support for students, helping with special projects as approved by supervisor, helping with other miscellaneous activities and other duties as assigned.
Current Second-Year Interior Design student, holding a 4.0 GPA, no missing work, specialist in Revit and Enscape software, available a minimum of 4 days a week on campus. Must be a current interior design student holding a 4.0 GPA.
Kitchen Work-Study - Union Market
A Union Market student employee is responsible for all phases of food service at Western Technical College. Food prep, cooking, and clean up all fall within the scope of this position. Each position will fluctuate depending on time of day and specific needs.

To provide information, support, and services for residents in the Residence Hall community. Desk Assistants are often the first face residents and guests see, making interpersonal and organization skills keys to success.
