Congratulations on your decision to enroll in a Business Division program. As a business student, you will be expected to utilize technology effectively in order to be successful in your classes. We have developed a tool which will help assess this knowledge in order to help you be successful in your coursework. This assessment is a requirement of all students in Business programs and we encourage you to complete it now.

To prepare you for the technology requirements of your coursework, we’ve created an assessment to identify your skills in the areas of:

• Windows Operating Systems
• File Management
• Microsoft Word
• Microsoft Excel
• Outlook
• The Internet

To brush up before or after the assessment, you can use these resources:

• Basic Computer Skills
• Microsoft Excel Basics
• Microsoft Word Basics
• Windows 7 Basics, Part 1
• Windows 7 Basics, Part 2
• Windows 7 Basics, Part 3

The assessment is done entirely online and has a time limit of 60 minutes. There are a total of 40 questions consisting of true/false, multiple choice, matching, and simulation based assessments. You may take this two times and your highest score will count. Once you begin the assessment, you must complete it or that attempt is lost. Your goal is to obtain a 75% or higher. If you do not obtain that score, you will be required to attend--and will be contacted about--additional skill building workshops prior to the start of classes.

To complete this required training, here’s what you need to do:

1. Using Chrome or Firefox, click on the following link to go to our assessment site: www.labyrinthelab.com/set-welcome.
2. Follow steps 1 through 4 and then click on the green START button to login.
3. You are already registered. To login, enter your student e-mail.
4. Your password is your 9 digit student ID with a P in front of it. For example: P001234567.

The assessment has to be completed on a PC. Tablets, phones, or Mac’s will not work. If you are unable to take the assessment outside of Western, we have lab space available on the La Crosse campus. Please check in at the Business Division Office at 608-785-9130 to arrange for lab space.

NOTE - This is different than the Student Readiness Training which is required if you are new to online or blended learning.
