Sports Mentorship Association (SMA) Youth Mentoring Positions

SMA is a non-profit organization that uses an active learning model called Trauma informed Sports Programming & Kinesthetic Activity. SMA runs a weekly youth mentoring program at Western in La Crosse for middle school youth. We need students to serve as mentors. For this year, we have funding available to pay mentors who can make a substantial commitment to the program. Learn more on Ugetconnected.

Women's Initiative Network (WIN)

Western is launching a women's empowerment group in the Fall Term of 2020. Gatherings will be informal and casual learning opportunities. The purpose of this group to connect with alumni and other female students to build community and peer support. We want to build a group that allows you to connect, grow, and network with other women with shared experiences.  Future events could involve — for example, a group bowling night, lunch at a restaurant, women in the field panel, mentoring, etc. Contact us if you are interested in learning more about upcoming gatherings.

Make Change Film Series

Watch a film or documentary to bring light to issues and problems experienced by numerous communities and across shared identities, a community-based discussion allowing one to become better informed while concurrently bringing in their perspectives, lived-experiences, and challenging what one knows.
