Expenses such as books, legal fees, tobacco, alcohol and entertainment expenses are not covered.
Special COVID-19 Funding*
In an effort to ease some financial stress, the federal government is providing additional funding to support college students. This funding is part of the CARES Act, which provides additional money for students whose education has been impacted by the disruption of campus operations due to the coronavirus. Costs we can help with include classroom materials, learning technology, including web-cams and laptops, food, and more.
To apply for emergency funding, complete the online application.
After you complete the application, results are sent to the Emergency Fund Advisor for review. You will be notified via your student email within two business days about next steps. This may include meeting with the Emergency Fund Advisor and providing additional documentation regarding your emergency.
*Western Technical College’s CARES Act for Students support program is made possible through funding in the total amount of $1,189,722 available to Western students for whom the coronavirus has impacted their educational plans. 100% of the dollar amount for this specific support is made wholly available by the US Department of Education’s implementation of the CARES Act.
