Transcript Request Procedure

The cost for an official transcript is $8.00. Official transcripts are not processed if the student has an outstanding financial obligation. Official transcripts can be mailed, faxed, or picked up. Contact the receiving school for their policy regarding transcripts. Most schools require transcripts be sent directly to them from another college and will not accept transcripts from the student. Transcripts will be stamped “Issued to Student” when picked up or mailed to the student, unless requested to be in a sealed envelope (indicates student is NOT to open).

You may request a copy of your official transcript online, in person or by mail:

If you request a transcript online, you can pay by credit/debit card only.

If you request a transcript in person/by mail, you can pay by cash/check only. Our office hours are Monday-Thursday 7:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m. and Friday 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

Processing Timeframe

The average transcript processing time is three to five business days. Processing time does not include delivery time. Orders placed during peak times, such as registration, immediately before a semester begins, and just prior to commencement, may take longer to process. 

Important information:

  • Selecting the "After Grades are Posted" processing timeframe may cause a 1 week delay in processing.
  • The "After Degree is Awarded" processing timeframe may take up to 6 weeks to process.

Western Technical College is closed on holidays and weekends. Transcripts are processed Monday through Friday.

Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974

Western annually informs students of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974 in the Student Handbook. This act protects the privacy of educational records, establishes the rights of students to inspect and review their educational records and provides guidelines for the correction of inaccurate or misleading data through informal and formal hearings.
